IMPORTANT: Accessing Outlook / Teams / 365 Apps on Mobile Devices

As of 3rd September NHS Mail has rolled out "Device Security Baseline" which will affect the way you access NHS Mail / Microsoft 365 (Including Outlook and Teams) from a Mobile Device (iOS / Android).
From the 3rd September you will need to have the Microsoft Authenticator App installed on your iOS device to access ay Microsoft 365 Apps (Including Outlook and Teams), for Android Devices you will need to have the Intune Company Portal App installed.
If you do not have these Apps installed then you will not be able to access these services (including Outlook and Teams) from your Android or iOS Device.
For work devices that are managed by SCFT these apps are installed by default so you should be able to access your NHS Mail services, if you are using a personal device then you will need to install the relevant app.
Once the relevant "broker app" (MS Authenticator on iOS or Intune company Portal on Android) is installed and you access Outlook / Teams for the first time you may get some prompts, you just need to accept those prompts and everything should work.
It should be noted that this does not give NHS Mail or SCFT any access or control over the device itself, just the App and NHS Mail services - what this allows NHS Mail to do is enforce some baseline requirements in order to access their services, for example that the device is up-to-date, it's healthy (i.e. not jailbroken / rooted) and is running a supported version of iOS or Android.
