Restoring Documents in Office Desktop
1. If instead, you have the document opened in an Office Desktop application, the feature can be accessed through File > Info > Version History. Keep in mind, this feature is only active for documents created or already existing on OneDrive and Sharepoint, for restoring files from shared folders please contact us using the following form: https://servicedesk.scft.nhs.uk/support/catalog/items/89
2. Once the Version History panel opens on the right-hand side of the document, clicking on one of its versions will open it as a new window.
3. The newly-opened document version will either give you the option to copy some of the lost data over to the current version or fully restore and thus, replace the current one.
Once clicked on Restore, both documents will close and, upon reopening, the chosen version will have been restored.
PLEASE NOTE The overwritten version will also be saved as a previous one to the successfully restored one.
