The following workflow details the OneDrive mop up procedure.
To try and engage with users who either do not have an active email or have not been contactable by other methods we will be deploying a custom wallpaper via snapcomms.
This wallpaper will rotate with the current trust wide wallpaper.
When a user contacts the service desk the steps to complete their migration are:-

Check if they have an email under SCFT

Yes

Is it active and matches AD email field?
- Yes → Log them into OneDrive following the VDI/Laptop process mentioned below
- No (Deleted) → Restore it, then log them into OneDrive following the VDI/Laptop process
- No (Deleted Permanently) → Create a new email, update AD email field, then log them into Email & OneDrive following the VDI/Laptop process

Is it active and matches AD email field?

No

Do they have an active NHSmail with another trust?
-
Yes → Can they trigger the NHSmail leaver/joiner process?
- Yes → Once completed, log them into OneDrive following the VDI/Laptop process
- No → Ask the user for the reason and raise to the server team.
- No → Create a new email, update AD email field, log them into Email & OneDrive following the VDI/Laptop process

Yes → Can they trigger the NHSmail leaver/joiner process?

Do they have an active NHSmail with another trust?

Yes
VDI Process (No need to manually run any script as it is automated)

Once the email is active and the user has already logged in to their email at least once:
- Remote into the user’s VDI session and wait for a few minutes until the OneDrive login message pops up. If it doesn’t, click the grey cloud OneDrive icon in the taskbar
- Complete the OneDrive login and ensure Known Folder Sync (Desktop, Documents, Pictures) is enabled.
- Ask the user to not to log out for an hour or so and they can lock their screen if they need to leave their VDI desk.
Laptop/Desktop Process

Once the email is active and the user has already logged in to their email at least once:

Run the script as the user \\scft.nhs.uk\apps\Scripts\OneDrive\OOS\RunScript.cmd (logs are produced into \\scft.nhs.uk\apps\Logs\OneDriveMigration\OOS) and it will do the following:

Check OneDrive Status:

If OneDrive is running and logged in:

Verify if paths point to OneDrive local folders “%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive – NHS\
- Yes → Exit
- No → Update paths to point to OneDrive

Verify if paths point to OneDrive local folders “%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive – NHS\
- If OneDrive is NOT running or logged in:

If OneDrive is running and logged in:

Check OneDrive Status:

Run the script as the user \\scft.nhs.uk\apps\Scripts\OneDrive\OOS\RunScript.cmd (logs are produced into \\scft.nhs.uk\apps\Logs\OneDriveMigration\OOS) and it will do the following:
This step may take a long time as it depends on the size of user Document and Desktop folders
- Update all paths and copy data from the old path (File server path) to the local user profile “%USERPROFILE%\Documents” and “%USERPROFILE%\Desktop”
- Execute admin-required tasks (engineer provides admin credentials)
- Launch OneDrive for user to complete the setup wizard
